The essential difference
in relation to chlorination using commercial chlorineproducts or self-made chlorine bleach is that salt isused to disinfect the pool water. This salt can be usedin a variety of forms: as sea salt, rock salt, brine, etc.A low salt content of just 0.2% for producinghypochlorous acid is sufficient to reliably disinfectpool water using the Technopool process.

In October 2002, Technopooland the Lünen Pool Association were awarded the5th German Hazard Protection Prize 2002 bythe Federal Ministry for Labour and Social Affairs forthe development and introduction of this innovativeprocess without any hazardous substances what-soever.

Today it is foreseen that even more stringent safety requirements will beimposed for applications involving chlorine gas and chlorine bleach. Theserequirements will be based on the German regulations governing hazardoussubstances, the Water Resources Management Act and transport regulations.The statutory demand is to : minimize the risks.
